Day 1 Tokyo
Arrive at Narita Airport and take a shuttle bus to our hotel. The est of the day is free to explore Tokyo.
Day 2 Tokyo
Spend half the day sight-seeing, visiting famous landmarks such as the Tokyo Tower Observatory, Imperial Palace Plaza, Sensoji Temple and Nakamise Shopping Arcade. Later, we will drive through Ueno and eventually disembark at either Akihabara or Tokyo Station.
Day 3 Tokyo-Mt. Fuji-Hakone (L)
On this day, wou will take a deluxe motor coach where we begin our drive to Japan's highest mountain, Mt. Fuji, to enjoy a spectacular view. In the afternoon, we will proceed to Hakone for a boat ride on Lake Ashi and then head over to Mt. Komagatake Ropeway. We will stay over in Hakone for one night.
Day 4 Hakone-Takayama
Prepare for a 5 hour train ride from Hakone to Takayama. Upon arrival, you will visit the Yatai Kaikan Hall, ranked as one of Japanˇ¦s most beautiful festivals. Then to the Kusakabe Folk Museum, a museum designated as a National Important Cultural Asset. For those who are interested in shopping for souvenirs, our next destination will be Kami Sannomachi Town, famous for sake , pottery and toys. We will stay over in Takayama for one night.
Day 5 Takayama-Shirakawa-go-Kanazawa
In the morning, we will visit Takayama Morning Market, which one of the biggest morning markets in Japan. We then head to Shirakawa-go Observatory, a 10 minute hike will get you a classic-wide angle view of the entire village. Next we visit Wada Residence, the largest remaining Gassho style farmhouses in Ogimachi village. We will stay over in Kanazawa for one night.
Day 6 Kanazawa-Kyoto
Considered as the "three most beautiful gardens in Japan", we will visit Kenrokuen Garden and Kutaniyaki Pottery Kiln for Japanese style porcelain pottery. Then we will visit Nomura Residence, an old house of traditional Japanese tile-roofed mud walls resident of a Maeda clanˇ¦s samurai warrior. For shopping, we will go to Omicho Market, Kanazawaˇ¦s largest market. We will stay over in Kyoto for one night.
Day 7 Kyoto (L)
Kyoto, is known as the City of Ten Thousands of Shrines. There are literally thousands of temples and shrines to see. You will be visiting Nijo Castle, Kinkakuji Temple, Kyoto Imperial Palace, Heian Shrine, Sangusangendo Temple and Kiyomizu Temple. Here, you will take a moment to learn the proper way to pray and snap a few beautiful pictures of the surrounding traditional gardens.
Day 8 Kyoto to Osaka Airport
Depending on your flight schedule, you may have extra time to spend in Kyoto, and/or take a 75 minute train ride from Kyoto to Osaka Airport for your flight back home or on to your next destination.
Day 9 Beijing (AB, L, D)
Begin your journey today by visiting the sites of the 2008 Olympic Games, such as the Bird's Nest and the Water Cube for outside viewing. Afterwards, enjoy a visit to the Summer Palace and later to a pearl factory.
Day 10 Beijing (AB, L, SD)
Today you will visit Tiananmen Square, the Forbidden City and the Temple of Heaven. In the evening, you'll be treated to a Peking Duck Banquet.
Day 11 Beijing (AB, L, D)
Full day as you journey to the Great Wall. After exploring the Great Wall, we visit a jade factory, have lunch and make our way back to the city to visit the Lama Temple. After dinner, enjoy a spectacular Kung Fu Show for some late evening entertainment.
Day 12 Beijing - Xian (AB, L, SD)
Take a morning Hutong Tour before catching an afternoon flight to Xian. You'll be met at the airport and escorted to the hotel to check in. In the evening, enjoy a special Chinese Dumpling Banquet followed by a traditional Tang Dynasty Show.
Day 13 Xian (AB, L, D)
Spend an exciting day with the Terracotta Warriors at their excavation site. Visit three giant pits that contain 7,300 warriors, horses and chariots. After lunch, continue your tour by visiting the Big Goose Pagoda and the Ancient City Wall.
Day 14 Xian - Shanghai (AB, L, D)
Today you'll catch your flight to Shanghai. Upon arrival, visit The Bund-Shanghai's famous waterfront and Nanjing Road-China's premier shopping street. Later visit Yu Yuan Garden-a famous classical garden that dates back to the Ming Dynasty and explore the Old Shanghai District.
Day 15 Shanghai (Suzhou) (AB, L)
Enjoy a day tri to Suzhou where you'll visit Tiger Hill, Lingering Garden and Silk Factory #1. Return to Shanghai in the evening.
Day 16 Shanghai (AB)
Spend the morning at your leisure until we escort you to the airport for your flight home or to your next destination.
